Oh Man

Could college be any better (just wait you might hear me saying "could college get any worse around final or midterms. 17.5 credit hours is a bunch)? Today I got alot done while I was at school. Devotionals start next Tuesday so I had extra time on my hands today, and Monday is labor day (Wahoo!) I love college so much. It's so great, and t has sports, and you can almost always find a way to listen. Like today I listened to the idaho state university vs. byu game on the ISU website. It was fantastic and WE WON 3-1. GO COUGS!! I only have to read 12 more pages for american heritage and do a worksheet when reading 1nephi 1-5. SO yeah! almost done with homework.

First day of a new stage

So this morning I woke up and turned my alarm off thinking "I'll just sleep 2 more minutes" I ended up falling asleep for 30 minutes. by this time it was 6:30 and my first class was at 7:00. let's say it was planned to take 25 minutes to get to school. I was out of the house with 12 (or 22 it was early) minutes to get to class. I was praying so hard to get to class on time. and I didn't have my license on my either, so I could not get pulled over at all. So the whole way to school all the lights were green, and I was prompted to go a certain way and walk this way, and I'd never been to my classroom before and the door I go in is just 2 turns away from my room with directions on the wall. I got there with 2 minutes to spare and my teacher was late. I was counting my blessings at this point. I was hauling my 30 pound bag and limp leg all over campus. Then I had my religion class. It was fantastic! Bro. Merrill has been my home teacher since I was seven. I love BYU! After that I had an hour break before my American Heritage class. Which ended up being a kid I knows' dad. Weird. Then I had to power walk over to my calc (math 112) class. Then I had a two hour break till my chemistry class. This class was so funny. So many quotable things. Thanks to Mac & Emma for the Macedone recommendation. It was so worth it. Chemistry is gonna be a blast this year.

Oh and I had lost my BYU ID which is like your life on a card. so nice ladies in the WSC printed a peper one out for me. I am so blessed because I also have a chem lab tomorrow morning and the packet for it was available beginning today. I have a 7 a.m. class and the library opens at 8. So I had to get it today. Guess what? They can use your paper copy. there were definitely some people in heaven watching out for me today.

I seriously love my all my Teachers. Today was a great day! Hello A lot parking tomorrow!!!

Friendships

You know the feeling when your apart of some group and you see them like everyday, but it's like a fun and serious sort of thing? Well you know how those usually develop some friendships too? I realized I've been missing those a lot lately. Like when I danced I would spend countless hours with people and we would talk and hang out, and now I hardly see any of them. But watching sports teams and the connections they have with each other really makes me miss that aspect of dance. I love dance don't get me wrong, and I miss it, But I miss my friends and my connections with them so much more. I loved being able to go somewhere and have to do serious stuff and knowing at the end of the day I could goof off and crack jokes with people I enjoy being around and that i trust. people who know me. I think that's also part of why this foot thing is hard as well because i normally bond with people (i think at least) in a sportsmanship sort of way. and with out being able to be a sportsman it's very difficult, I get stared at. Some brave people even come up and asked what happened to my foot. I don't mind telling them the truth instead of some far fetched heroic story. as fun as that would be, it'd be lying, and I don't want people to like me because of some stupid heroic story, they're cool, but that's not what happened.

I met some cool people these last two days. Here's hoping I can remember all their names and faces. Good thing we are all in the same American Heritage class.

One thing I'm really excited for at BYU is the spiritual aspect with and education. like today our group did a tour of campus, and our y group leader took s to the JSB (Joseph Smith Building) and read us the dedicatory prayer because she found peace in it one day. And she read it and Half way through the spirit was really strong and and a great message, and she just started to cry, and trying to keep her breathing and continue, but our (my) other Y leader (they are really good friends and she had a crush on him for the longest time, and took the 2 years he was one his mission to get over him), he looked at her and It was so cute. He cared so much for her, and they would text back and forth if they were like 5 feet apart from each other, and they'd always ask the other person their opinion, and I just couldn't help but think, Wow I'm coming to a campus where I can share my testimony and not be afraid (not that I'm not afraid) to let people in and hear it, and how much it strengthens each other and I always love hearing the young mens testimonies, because I feel like it is the only thing we can take with us that is pure, and so important that we need to constantly be caring for and protecting, and nourishing it. I love hearing testimonies, I feel like I can trust that person.

new developments

Have I mentioned how much I love soccer? well I do and tonight was a BYU-UTE game and we won 4-0. It's was great. the only thing I miss is being able to play soccer and do stuff. I mean i can run, but the top of my foot isn't protected in this boot and I doubt my doctor will let me play for a while. But I love soccer. I also learned I loved reserved seating. it is a chair form and not a bleacher and you don't have to worry about going early and getting a good seat. On the bright side in the shower i can wear a shoe and not a boot which means I can shave my leg and clean it, and get my foot wet (but not soak it).

Washington

Washington was pretty eventful. There was a wedding and we went to the space needle, pike place market and bought the best yellow peaches in the world, and smoothies, and tried doughnut peaches. We went on a bridals photo shoot in a coach bus, ate at a old gas works site now turned into a park, shopped at H&M, went to a rehearsal dinner, got on a houseboat, saw a marriage by a minister/preacher, and went to a mccormicks and schmucks.Cousin Jim, wife kelly, and uncle Larry
at kerry's park aka fraisers balcony also in ten things i hate about you
Also on the night of the rehearsal dinner was BYU womens soccer season opener against UW (u dub) and it was so intense. I was in seattle and so was the game and I wasn't there, but i was streaming it live (thanks for jim having his computer on his tv) it was such and intense game. I loved watching it.

Xrays - improvement much

This is before and after of my foot. Before on left at check up on right.

that bright white line on the left is a pin in my foot. if you look carefully at the middle picture and you follow my original bone the one over the sesamoids you can see how much bone is missing.

Also the Doc said I can drive and sleep without the boot on my foot which is a big bonus.

Foot surgery

After a week I got a new bandage on my foot. It looks really good. I have dissolving stitches or something weird like that. so yeah. hopefully on Tuesday I will be able to get my foot wet.
